For years, I have thought about taking self defense classes, but I always put it on the back burner and told myself that I would do it later. After reading about all of the I-phone robberies and purse snatchings recently though, I finally convinced myself that now was the perfect time, especially since I am a very petite woman and find myself walking alone at at night very often. I started taking private training sessions under the TFS ACTION System about a little over 3 months ago and it was the best decision that I could’ve made. The instructors, Tony and Cedric, are absolutely wonderful. They are both extremely knowledgeable about self defense, as well as on the criminal mind and how it works. Since they are both police officers, they were able to give me a number of tips on how to spot an attacker and how to be more alert and aware of what is going on around me.
Even though I have no martial arts training and am extremely uncoordinated, I never felt stupid or incapable of learning the moves. Tony and Cedric always made sure to provide me with constructive criticism when necessary and complimented me when I did something the right way. They taught me how to hit and kick more powerfully through the use of my entire body since I am such a small woman and how to anticipate what an attacker may do, so that I have the upper hand. They were both very patient and were able to explain things in a manner that made sense to me. Now after only 3 months, I feel so much more comfortable and confident walking the city streets alone, and I have definitely noticed a change in my body too. I am a lot stronger and my muscles are noticeably more toned. I will definitely continue myself defense training with TFS for a long time!
When I walked into my first training session at Tactical Fighting Systems, I had no idea what to expect. All I knew for sure was that I wanted to learn some ways to defend myself. I was a little nervous, because I was out of shape and a little overweight and really didn’t know just how physical self defense training would be. Well, let me tell you, Tactical Fighting Systems is not just about learning a couple hits and kicks; the training is also an amazing total body workout as well. Not only have I already lost 10 pounds, but I have also found the confidence in myself that I never knew was there. Now, I find myself walking with my head held high, making eye contact with everyone that I pass and believe me, if someone does try to attack me, I’ll be ready with a series of palm heels to the face followed by a couple of powerful kicks to the groin. Now, I am certain that I will not be the one laying on the ground crying for help! And, I am done working out on the boring treadmills and elliptical machines; my self defense training is not only helping me learn how to protect myself, but it is also helping me to get into shape.
The TFS ACTION System self-defense training is unbelievable and I highly recommend it to both men and women. When I first started out, I was a very timid wall flower, but I have quickly come out of my shell and now feel so powerful every time that I throw a kick or punch. I know with all certainty that if the time came for me to defend myself, I would be ready for anything. Attackers beware! I was also fairly out of shape when I first started taking classes with Tactical Fighting Systems, and now I am quickly realizing just how strong and powerful I can actually be. I have lost some weight and will no longer waste hours at the gym taking zumba or tedious aerobics classes; instead, I plan to increase my training time and fit in a few more hours of group classes every week at TFS. Not only will I be fit and trim, but I will also be able to protect myself against any violence that comes my way. Plus, classes are reasonably priced, which I love.
My wife had been begging me for years to take a self-defense class with her, but I always laughed it off and told her that I didn’t need to take self-defense. I am a man after all and I always thought that if something did happen, I would easily be able protect myself and my wife, but I will admit that I was completely wrong! Since my wife was determined to take classes with me, she surprised me and purchased a couple class packages from Tactical Fighting Systems after she saw their sign in a window and checked out their website. Of course since she already paid for the classes, I was stuck. After the first class though, I was thanking her for making me go. Our first class was with Tony, and I learned quickly that just because I am a larger man does not mean that I know how to fight; in fact, I didn’t even know the right way to throw a punch. My punches had absolutely no power behind them and because I am so stiff and awkward, I also had a hard time delivering a series of strikes quickly and accurately. An attacker would have no problem getting the better of me. My wife had better form than I did and believe me that did not make me feel very good about myself. I was determined to improve so that I could win a fight if I was ever attacked.
We have been going to class now for a couple of months, and with the help of both Tony and Cedric, not only is my wife ready to kick some butt, but I have learned so much and I know that if something did happen, I would be ready. I have learned to loosen up and to generate power in both my strikes and kicks. I think I still have a lot to learn though, so the training will continue. I recommend the ACTION System for everyone. Don’t let your ego get in the way of your safety.
